Private party Auburn family selling a like-new Mid-2019 Apple MacBook Pro 13" with Touchbar.
IS STILL THE APPLE MAC PRO 2012 GREAT BUY SOFTWARE
My parting shot to you is- it never pays to get too far behind in the software or hardware. The graphic from the third party is but one metric, I can not speak to the validity of anything 4 years in the future. I guess my real concern & question is: i know the mid-2012 is compatible with & can run Catalina & Logic Pro X right now in 2021, but will the same be true in 2022, 2023, & 2024?
IS STILL THE APPLE MAC PRO 2012 GREAT BUY UPDATE
So like when Logic Pro X releases an update will it always be compatible with a machine runnin Mojave or Catalina? And, will the mid-2012 always be able to run Catalina? It seems like eventually Catalina will be too old for new updates from Logic Pro X when they are releasing updates for OS X beyond Big Sur say in 2024 or 25. I confused 7 year obsolete & hardware support with the 5 year security & software updates, OS X support. But, does that chart ever change? I mean will this still be true in 2025? In my original question I forgot to address my main concern. So a mid-2012 mbp runnin Mojave or Catalina is compatible with Logic Pro X. I really appreciate the community & the knowledgeable contributors like you.□ I know the mid-2012 is compatible with & can run Catalina & Logic Pro X right now in 2021, but will the same be true in 2022, 2023, & 2024? I hate soundin like an idiot but maybe I am.□ It seems like eventually Catalina will be too old for new updates from Logic Pro X when they are releasing updates for OS X beyond Big Sur say in 2024 or 25. MacOS Catalina is the end of the line on mid-2012 due to hardware limitations, but may well server your purpose. So, I want to get another one of these b/c they’re bulletproof tanks that perform like stealth missles. I already have the 500 gb SSD & 16 gb RAM upgrades ready to go. I use it mainly for recording music with Logic Pro X & GarageBand. I know that’s 2 years away but mine just pooped out on me & i need to replace it ASAP. Since they ended production in October 2016 they will be Vintage this fall & Obsolete in 2023. If anyone has experience with an Apple Obsolete MacBook Pro or Mac, etc what can I expect in its functionality after service is stopped? I’m afraid of this with the mid-2012 13”. I still have an iPad 1st Gen & b/c it’s obsolete there are a lot of apps that just can’t work anymore. My fear is when it’s tagged obsolete and there’s no more service from Apple will it cause problems with updates required for the OS X & the software apps, etc? I do agree but I’ve a burnin question that doesn’t seem to be raised often. Veryone is still talkin bout the mid-2012 MBP 13” non-retina like it’s the best diamond in the rough machine for price & performance.
